Gary Armbrister joins NextGen CFO

Gary Armbrister has joined NextGen CFO as an Associate. We're pleased to have someone of Gary's background and experience join NextGen CFO. Business owners continue to discover the benefits of a part-time CFO, and Gary will strengthen our ability to service this growing market.
Gary has over 30 years of experience in all phases of financial management including financial reporting, taxation, employee benefits administration, internal control, risk assessment and management, acquisitions, restructurings and other specialized accounting and reporting areas. He was employed during his career as a financial officer for both Stanley Furniture Company, Inc. and Hooker Furniture Corporation; two top-ten publicly traded home furnishings producers. He has also consulted with other businesses in the home furnishings, retail and leisure industries. He is the founder of R. Gary Armbrister, CFO Services, providing value-added CFO, Controllership and transaction-based accounting and finance services to small businesses and larger firms needing assistance in these areas. Gary also advises religious and other charitable and not-for-profit organizations on financial matters. With offices in Martinsville and Wytheville, Virginia, his service area spans the five-state region of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia.
Gary graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Major – Accounting. Having spent most of his life and career in Southwest and Southside Virginia, Gary has been active in community organizations throughout the region, most significantly the Blue Ridge Mountains Council, Boy Scouts of America, serving 21 counties of Southwest Virginia, where he has served in a number of volunteer roles including Council President.
